What we hire for
Availability moves. If a role is not currently open we keep applications on file and we say so honestly rather than leaving you waiting.
Pallet grader
The most important job in the building. You will assess several hundred pallets an hour under natural light, deciding what goes out as Grade A, what gets repaired, and what gets dismantled. Experience helps; a good eye and consistency matter more.
Repair technician
Board replacement, companion stringers, end plugs, fastener remediation. Nail gun and band saw work. We train on our standards, which are stricter than most yards — no offcuts, no staples on structural joints, no hammering fasteners flush.
CDL driver — Class A
Flatbed and dry van on Ohio lanes. Columbus daily, plus scheduled runs to Cleveland, Cincinnati, Dayton, Toledo and Akron. Loading and unloading with a forklift is part of the job, and counting on the ground with the customer present is non-negotiable.
Yard coordinator
Scheduling inbound and outbound, managing the staging area, keeping counts and records straight, and being the person a customer's driver talks to. A lot of this job is preventing disputes before they exist.
What it is like
Honest about the job.
It is outdoor work in Ohio, which means humid Julys and a January that finds every gap in your coat. It is physical. It is dusty. The forklifts do not stop because it is raining.
What it is not: chaotic, or unsafe, or the kind of place where nobody explains why a standard exists. We train properly because a grader who understands why a hairline stringer crack matters makes better decisions than one who has memorised a rule.

We do not use an application portal. Everything goes through email, same as the rest of the business.
How we train
Nobody learns grading from a document
The most valuable skill in this yard cannot be written down, so we teach it the way it has always been taught.
Weeks 1–2 — beside someone
New graders work next to experienced ones, grading the same pallets and comparing. Disagreements get resolved against a physical reference pallet rather than a written rule, because a written rule drifts in interpretation and an object does not.
Weeks 3–6 — your own position
Your own grading position with your own reference pallets. Output is sampled and re-graded blind. If the disagreement rate is high, we look at the references rather than at you — usually the borderline examples need updating.
Ongoing — periodic re-grading
Samples get pulled and re-graded blind across the whole line, including the people who have been here longest. Consistency drifts in both directions and the check applies to everyone.
Practical
Conditions, plainly stated
This is outdoor work in Ohio. Humid Julys, a January that finds every gap in your coat, and forklifts that do not stop because it is raining. It is physical and it is dusty. We would rather say that now than have you discover it in week two.
Hours
The yard runs Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with Saturday mornings 8:00 to 12:00. Driving roles are home nightly — our lanes are within Ohio and we do not run overnight.
Safety
Hi-vis and closed footwear in the operating area, always. Cut-resistant gloves for grading and repair. Eye protection on the saw and the grinder. Nobody works alone in the dismantling area. These are not negotiable and we would rather lose a shift than bend them.
What we look for
For graders and repair technicians: consistency over speed, and a willingness to be trained properly rather than to assume. For drivers: a clean record and the patience to count on the ground with a customer present, every time, including at four on a Friday.
